This is my cut-out sugar cookie recipe. The flavor and texture is delicious.
Sift together 3 cups sifted flour, 1t baking powder, 1/2t salt.
In a separate bowl cream together 1 c butter, gradually add 3/4c sugar, creaming well.
STIR in 1 UNBEATEN egg, 2T cream or milk, 1 1/2t vanilla, mix well.
Blend in the dry ingredients gradually.
If desired, chill dough 1 hour. Roll out on floured surface, 1/3 at a time to 1/8" thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters or pastry wheel. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle with sugar or decorate with frosting after cooled.
Bake at 400 degrees for 5-8 minutes until delicate golden brown
Makes 7-8 dozen.
